Logo colours play a hugely important role in logo design. Aside from the graphics, they deliver an instant message that will prompt people to take some action. In fact, they are regarded as the most potent non-verbal communication tool that can be used in any design. Because the world is basically suffused with colours, it can be said that the mind is attuned to them and what they make people feel and do. Most hues around us send out subliminal messages that somehow shape people's thoughts and actions.

A lot of what we do everyday are even governed by the colours in our environment. There is the red stop light and the green walk sign and even the colours of vegetables and fruits tell us whether they are ready to eat or not. Yellow

While this signifies warmth and sunshine, it is also denotes cowardice and caution. Thus, it conveys clashing messages to the people that see them. However, because of its brightness, yellow has high visibility that makes it one of the favourites when it comes to logos and other graphic designs like traffic signs.

Red

This is one of the exceptionally intense colours present in the colour wheel and is also known to evoke opposing reactions. While it can conjure feelings of passion and love, it can also bring about the images of warfare and blood. It is a colour that could raise a person's blood pressure and make another person's heart beat faster. There are also others who will go hungry upon seeing this colour.

Orange

A combination of yellow and red, this tint can also evoke emotions that could be stimulated by these two colours. Although there is less intensity to orange than red, it is still able to hold its own when it comes to throwing a punch. Many designers use this if they want to convey youthfulness and playfulness. Getting appetites up and stimulating emotions are also among the reasons behind the use of this logo colour.

Blue

Aside from its calming effect, blue can also bring up images of success, loyalty, trust, authority and security. This is known to be the most favourite logo colour and is most prominent in government and financial institutions.

Pink

Conveying femininity, pink is known to evoke delicacy and innocence. Commonly associated with cotton candy, little girls and bubble gum, this logo colour is a version of red that evokes softer emotions.

Green

Renewal and life are the common meanings associated with green. It is also another colour that can evoke both positive and negative emotions. While it can be soothing and restful as a colour, it is known as well for being the shade that denotes inexperience and jealousy.

Purple

If you are planning to denote sophistication, royalty, spirituality or mystery, then this should be your logo colour. A mixture of blue and red, purple is known for possessing properties that are both cool and warm. Because of the message it conveys, this colour can be found mostly in logos of products that are related to either luxury or education.
